Many of us have people we look up to. People who are close to us can influence the way we want to live our lives. Many people follow their parent’s line of work or a close friend’s. Whose opinion do you value the most? Why? It’s always good to have mentors. To have people to look up to. To have goals in mind. But many of us fall short because of those we choose to look up to or those that we allow to dictate our thoughts. I’m assuming you want to be exceptional. Being exceptional literally means to be the exception. Be different. So let me ask again, whose opinion do you value the most?
If they don’t have what you want, don’t listen to what they say. 99% of people are mediocre. Average. I don’t want to fall into this category. I don’t want to be another statistic. I want to do something great with my life. There is an awesome quote I heard from Chris Williams, I’m not sure where he got it from, but it says this: “There is no greater waste of time than justifying your actions to people who have a life that you don’t want.” That really hits home. When someone tells you it’s impossible or your dreams will never come true, ask yourself if you would want their life. If the answer is no, then their opinion means nothing. Don’t waste your time arguing or justifying yourself to these people. If you tell your friend you want to be a millionaire, they might laugh. If you tell a millionaire you want to be a millionaire they will not. That is because they know. They were in your shoes at one point. They wanted what they have now. They understand the pain you have to achieve these goals. They don’t think it’s silly and they know it’s possible.
Value of opinion means a lot. At the end of the day, for you to achieve your goals, nobody has to believe but you. If you wholeheartedly believe your dreams are obtainable then go get them. Do not wait for someone else to tell you. Do not wait for anyone. Go at your own pace. Find like-minded people to surround yourself with. Go hard, go fast, fail hard, and learn. Tell yourself, “I either win or I learn.” There is no fail. Failure comes only when you quit. Don’t quit. I either win or I learn. Get knocked down then get back up. Thats the game. Thats the winning ticket. If you follow these rules you will be successful. You will win. You will achieve everything you thought was so far away.
